Lipsticks for Winter|Drugstore Edition

December 7, 2016

There are two important make up items I swear by and always carry around- one being a good lipstick and another being my favorite kohl pencil. As winter makes an entry into our lives; the color palettes slowly transition into darker hues from brighter summer shades. We start opting for deeper tones, darker floral designs and vintage filters for winter. These shades blend in well with a bare tree, gloomy sky and cooler tone backdrop. So, today I decided to list down my 7 favorite lipstick shades for winter; these are of great quality and won’t cost you a fortune. These lipsticks glide on easily, stay on for a good amount of time and are super affordable. I’ve received so many messages from you guys about my lipstick shades that I finally decided to make a post. Most of these shades would look great on all skin tones specifically on warmer tones like mine.

“On a bad day there is always lipstick”

Milani Lipstick| Plum Rose

This is such a pretty pink, not too bright/neon but perfect for a softer look on a cold day. If you like pink shades with a brown undertone then this is a perfect color for you. It looks dark in the cover but glides on very light on the lips, a shade lighter than what is seen. Buy here

Finish- Satin

Maybelline lipstick clay crush

Maybelline Matte Lipstick| Clay Crush

If you love nude shades with a light pink undertone, this one will work very well for you. It may look like it has a slight orange-y tinge, but when applied it glides on very light and gives you the perfect nude shade. If you’re someone who loves a good smoky eye and needs a lip shade to balance it out then pick this one. Buy here

Finish: Matte

Milani lipstick rose femme

Milani Lipstick| Rose Femme

This is a very subtle brown shade with a pinkish undertone but glides on exactly like its seen. If you want to add some color to your lips but still want it to look extremely natural, then this shade is the one. This is best for work, casual lunches or dinner with friends and perfect to always have it in your purse. I also use this shade to tone down any other lipstick color that’s too bright. Buy here

Finish: Satin

Milani lipstick Uptown Mauve

Milani Lipstick| Uptown Mauve

This is definitely one of my favorite pigmented shade, the color lasts pretty long and you can avoid the quick touch ups in-between a party or work. I absolutely love the darker-deeper pink+purple hue in this; perfect for the temperature drop weather. This will definitely be my goto for holiday parties this season! Buy here

Finish: Satin

Milani Lipstick| Matte Flirty

This shade is very similar to uptown mauve but a lot deeper and darker, one of my winter favorites. This shade looks great on all skin tones and a goto when you have no time for make up. This shade will definitely make a statement on its own and you don’t need anything else except a dress for the party! Buy here

Finish: Matte

Maybelline lipstick burgundy blush

Maybelline Matte Lipstick| Burgundy Blush

This is one of my most enquired lipstick shade! I love Maybelline matte lipstick’s finish and for the price they’re fairly long lasting too. This shade is probably the darkest brown I own and it’s the best shade for the season. If you love browns and darker shades you must get this asap! Perfect for the upcoming holiday party season!
