Yes, thanksgiving is a day away and if you’re still confused and trying to figure out what to wear for the occasion, then fret no more cos’ I’ve got your back! Ok, lets be honest I haven’t come up with some path breaking outfit idea, it is in fact a very simple, casual and an extremely comfortable option for lazy girls like me! But it sounds very cool to put what you might already know on a fancy platter, right? A casual thanksgiving outfit can in fact be fancy in its own way, casual doesn’t always translate to boring/mundane. In other news- it’s gotten cooler here in Atlanta and I love winters as much as I love the sun! You the know the good thing about this city, it never gets too cold to handle and some winter noons can pass off as summer evenings. Which is so great and I hope I haven’t jinxed the perfect winter by saying that out loud. Ah, big deal, I’ll just have another reason to bring out my untouched leather jacket from last winter.
Whether you’re traveling home to be with your family or are busy getting your home ready to host a scrumptious thanksgiving dinner or if you’re just caught between work and home, what to wear for thanksgiving would probably be the last thing on your mind. So, let’s talk about what you can wear to a thanksgiving party without looking sloppy- the last minute edition. Just like me, I’m sure most of you face the dilemma of dressing up or tuning it down and end up debating about how much is too much! For me dressing down always wins without a doubt, only because I’m too damn practical that way. But most times I try to draw a little from both sides to create something that conveys a bit of everything.
Last minute outfit ideas need to spring out of your existing wardrobe, so I’ve used pieces that are probably resting prettily in your closet. Pick out a bright sweater, a pair of comfortable jeans and then build on it. I decided to pair this bright orange oversized sweater (for my oversized appetite) with a pair of blue skinny jeans. Bright colored outfits take off the baggage of accessorizing- in a way it’s an escape route, if you’re getting late to a party throw on your brightest outfit, a pair of nude heels and you’re good to go! I’m sure we’re all planning to indulge in some food belting that day so pick an outfit that leaves you room for desert, because no meal is a meal without some space for desert! I paired this basic outfit with a faux fur vest, it added the much needed cozy vibe. A faux fur vest is definitely on my fall-winter must have list, it’s one of those versatile pieces that’ll never let you down. So throw on your favorite jacket and finish it off with some dainty accessories like finger rings, bracelets or a pair of earrings. I genuinely loved this outfit purely for its simplicity and the chances of finding all these pieces in your wardrobe are definitely very high. You can add your own touch to this basic ensemble by experimenting with colors, make up and accessories. This look will work great for other holiday parties too. Have a tummy full thanksgiving weekend!
I hope you enjoyed reading the post, thanks for stopping by. Have a great day ahead!
