My main focus this year has been about introducing more number of new age brands that strive to make a difference in the society, through their products and work ethics. Amidst the chaos of what is trending and making heads turn on the ramp, businesses like Pure Ghee Designs– really make a mark and stand out for their strong unique voice. Pure Ghee Designs is an Indian brand housing the most eclectic collection of handmade accessories using traditional textiles- starting from bags, textile gajras/jewelry, potlis, clutches to decorative items! They have a huge variety of collection- each item is handmade by artisans that are trained and employed by the PGD studio. It makes me happy to know that there are brands like Pure Ghee Designs, that are actively involved in training-employing artisans from smaller towns/villages to give them a better financial and social life.

Aditi Prakash, the inspiring woman behind Pure Ghee Designs is known for her impeccable designing aesthetics and entrepreneurial skills. Aditi has lived in several different places like- Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Delhi, cities that are rich in heritage and hold an extremely strong cultural presence. She definitely agrees that her design journey reflects nuances and details that she absorbed from these beautiful cities. Her travel musings are vividly displayed through the fabrics she loves to work with- like gamcha from Bihar, ajar from Bhuj, Kitschy from Hyderabad and so on. Her usage of dominant vibrant neon colors (which I LOVE) are also inspired from rural women, who are mostly seen dressed in bright-bold colors. Aditi loves all things handmade- she believes in creating products with a soul and products that have a powerful story to tell to the world.

Aditi has worked in the Indian crafts sector for over 15 years and her main focus from the start was to create opportunities for craftsmen by redesigning their products to match the current market demand. Pure Ghee Designs, which was started about seven years ago has garnered a lot of recognition for their interesting take on using textile fabrics to create quirky-colorful accessories like gajras, bangles, neckpieces, scarves etc.

The name Pure Ghee came into being when one of Aditi’s craftsman gifted her a dabba (container) of home made ghee from his village. The ghee signified warmth, wholesomeness, quality and a taste that could transfer you into a state of nostalgia. She couldn’t think of a better name, Pure Ghee Designs– that invoked a sense of purity, goodness and richness like only a shudh desi ghee can. It represents all things Indian and carries an innate sense of earthiness that resonates equally with urban as well as rural masses.

Pure Ghee Designs sent me a few of their best selling products (like potlis, wristlets and textile gajras) – I’ve featured most of them in this post, and will be including the rest of the products in my upcoming posts.

My absolute favorite among these have to be the colorful textile gajras for their striking appeal and how they instantly add so much grace to your look. They’re a blessing for all Indian women, that reside in a foreign country and don’t find natural flower vendors that easily. If you’re someone like me who loves wearing flowers with Indian sarees, then these are your best bet. I couldn’t be happier knowing that I can now color match the flowers with my outfit, they’re available in my dresser anytime I need them AND they don’t wilt!

The potlis and wristlets are a must have staple accessory in an Indian wardrobe- they are made using bright colorful brocades and silks with a touch of zari. What I love about them- they’re all so stunningly made with enough space to hold the basic necessities, which is very important. They’re great for any festive occasion, and are a perfect match with sarees and pretty much any Indian ethnic wear.

It’s unbelievable that these products are handmade – the stitching, the details, the finishing and the quality of fabrics used is topnotch. I would highly recommend each of you to visit Pure ghee design’s website– you will instantly fall in love with everything you see. Pure Ghee Designs has definitely become my favorite with their exquisite aesthetics and for satiating my thirst for bright neon colors. Now I can safely walk out wearing white, grabbing one of these colorful accessories and along the way may be grab a few eyeballs too.

Price point- Starting from Rs 500.

International shipping- Available.

Pure Ghee products really warm your heart, I don’t know what it is about them- but they truly feel like handcrafted love!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed reading the post. Have an amazing day!
