One of the most exciting parts about being a blogger is that you get the opportunity to connect, associate and work with creatives that exhibit a tremendous amount of passion for their work. These are the kind of people who make us believe in our dreams, however big or small they may be. Especially when that cynical voice inside us tries to take over, a quick glance at such stories definitely restores my faith. It gives me immense joy in introducing brands, that are built by people who believed in their dreams and took a detour from the conventional-easy path to a steeper more difficult one!

It’s not an everyday occurrence that I come across a brand with an inspiring start-up story, coupled with aesthetics that resonate so closely with my personality. This only makes it easier for me to connect with the brand and understand their creative approach more clearly . I felt exactly that when I came across Manifest Design – a sculptural jewelry brand; co-founded by a sister-brother duo Manreet Deol and Samraat Deol! I am thrilled to showcase Manifest Design’s inspirational story and their distinctive take on handmade sculptural jewelry, through this post.

Manifest Design, a dream project of the siblings Manreet and Samraat Deol, was born in the summer of 2013 after years of planning and researching. Their quest to create beautiful-expressive ornaments, while combining their respective expertise in luxury design and e-commerce, led them into forming this company.

” One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art.”  Oscar Wilde

Manifest Design has most definitely carved an unique identity for itself by combining varied attributes, such as nature, history, contemporary visuals into an elegantly handcrafted piece. This is a clear indication of the hardwork put into conceptualizing and creating divergent pieces, rather than choosing to stick with the generic mould. Manifest Design strives on the concept of ‘making art wearable’ and every piece from their collection is a living proof of that! You can see me sporting some of their best selling pieces, one look and I’m sure you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. All their beautiful pieces are first hand sculpted, then cast in brass with a 18K gold or silver plating. Then as a finishing touch, the pieces get a subtle antique wash to add a vintage feel to them.

Every piece created is a result of translating the designer’s idea into handcrafted art, with the help of skilled craftsmen that add an unique touch to the pieces. Their designs are hugely inspired by gnarled corals, sensuous vines, bold rock sculptures, urban art, opera, traveling experiences and even street food! These interesting sources of inspiration definitely add a layer of intrigue and mystery, that truly make the pieces unique! One of the many reasons I admire these beautifully handcrafted pieces is that; the designs are uneven, imperfect and raw, almost eccentric as described by the makers. This organic and natural feel of the pieces definitely create a huge impact on their overall appeal.

One glance at the pieces and I was convinced that they were definitely designed for women, who want to make a statement and stand out in a crowd. For women who are opinionated, speak their mind and are not disturbed by the eye balls staring at them, while wearing one of the bold pieces. I’d say the collection is a smart mix of minimal pieces with a stand out factor and bold pieces that are a statement in itself. These pieces are heavily versatile & perfect for the modern contemporary woman, who sets out to defy stereotypes and create her own destiny!

Manifest Design in a way blurs the boundaries between art and jewelry.
