Jeans: Forever 21
Neck piece: Forever 21
Happy Tuesday!First of all, I’am so thankful to all you people who read, shared and commented on my previous post. I was honestly not expecting such a positive response, thank you, it truly means a lot.
Moving on, how was your weekend? Mine was great, I caught up with a couple of my friends after a really long time. Sometimes all you need is a session of catching up, it surely brightens up your week.Talking about brightening things up, grey is not the color you would think of in that reference. Well, I know it’s probably not one of the most cheery colors out there, but its a great comfort color. I call it that because its so neutral, just like black and you can almost wear it with anything and it will easily blend in. It will readily pop any color you add to it, so you can really play around with your color palette.
Call me crazy, but I truly find basic pieces like these very stylish and comfortable. On a regular day, when I’am swarmed with options, I mostly resort to something basic, like a tee and a pair of well fitted denim. I feel they give you so much room to experiment and decide if you want to keep it simple or really amp it up. We overlook these basic items in our wardrobe, but if you ask me a grey tee can be worn on a casual day and also on a date night.Who doesn’t like a multi-tasking item in their wardrobe? If you know how to add some color, a statement necklace and some fancy shoes or heels, you are good to go! If you really want to take it to another level, layer it with a jacket/blazer or wear it with a bright skirt or with a pair of denim shorts and my list can go on.Moreover, grey is great for fall, you can totally rock it as a layering base or just wear it with some black leggings and boots. I’am totally looking forward to experimenting this fall season.
In this look, I paired this grey tee with one of my favorite light blue jeans. I love the way it fits and goes well with the grey shade, without overpowering. Because both the pieces are kind of subtle and low key, I added this red bag and a red lip to take away from the monotony. Just to throw in some variation, I added a statement neck piece,it made the look slightly more than casual for me.Originally I wanted to stick to a simple weekend look, but couldn’t help falling in love with the neck piece and had to sport it! A grey tee can go a long way, so don’t underestimate it just because its not bright and shiny. Instead experiment with it and add it your must have list.
BTW, you can tell from the extra bright, almost blinding me-pictures, the sun really did shine upon us this week. You pretentious weather!
Let me know how you liked this and your take on styling a grey tee.
