It’s been a long week of 22 hour tiring flight, warm hugs, welcoming smiles, home cooked food and coming home to a sunny sky! Yes, I am finally in India and I cannot tell you how amazing it feels to be around familiar faces and streets. Not that I dislike meeting new people or visiting new places, but there’s a strange happiness in familiarity. Don’t you agree? This time around it took me a while to get over my jet lag, but now I am absolutely fit to take on the wedding frenzy that’s about to blow in my face. I am super excited for my cousin’s wedding and I will try and cover my outfit details either on Instagram or on the blog. And then just like that we finished the first month of 2017, in a blink! Happy new month you guys, I hope you make it an amazing one!

So with Valentine’s day just around the corner, I decided to do an outfit post that could give you some inspiration for V-Day and more. You know me, I’m most comfortable in jeans/pants; that’s mostly because I feel like I don’t have the right body to pull off a maxi dress or a body con. It’s not like I hate my body, no, I in fact have gone through the fitting into the ‘normal size’ phase and I’m happy to say I am over it! Every passing year as I get older, I’ve realized how important it is to do what you love, to wear what you want and to say what you really feel. Being true to yourself is so important and yet we don’t stress enough on it. Telling yourself that you CAN wear something you’ve been wanting to, but putting it away just because you want to get to a certain size, is wrong. So, this time I decided to go all out and wear what I love and let go of my inhibitions that may have restricted me all these years. And let me tell you I feel free, I feel like I have moved a step closer in loving myself and it has only made my heart swell with happiness! So, this Valentine’s day don’t forget to show yourself some love too.

I have been meaning to take on the metallic trend for a long time now but never really got down to it. So with Valentine’s day around the corner, I thought I’d give it a try before it gets washed off from the fashion space, which I personally don’t think is happening anytime soon! I am in love with metallics and the way they make a statement without trying too hard. I love pieces like these that can be just thrown on without having to invest too much time on planning the outfit from head to toe. They somehow work around the pieces you add and bring the outfit together really well. I was really looking forward to styling a simple valentine’s look with very minimal accessories and a bold lip. Nothing quite goes with Valentine’s day like a pop of red or pink. So, incase you’re like me and don’t plan on jumping on the red/pink outfit bandwagon, then add them in your look some other way. A bold red lip is perfect with a statement dress like this one, it doesn’t take away from the dress yet adds the much needed color. For accessories I did away with earrings and neck pieces and just added this elegant rose gold watch from KLASSE14. It is such an amazing piece to gift or even to own, it instantly adds the much needed elegance in any outfit/look.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Have an amazing V-Day!

I can imagine how much love and ofcourse you would have enjoyed while you were in India. I love the dress. Even though it is metallic, it looks understated and complements your shape perfectly.
