How have u been? I feel like it’s been sooo long, I apologize for not posting last week,I was away on a short vacation to the gorgeous Lake Tahoe.I’am a little behind and need to catch up on all your posts too, I’am still recovering from the post vacay depression, so kindly excuse me.I can’t even begin to express how beautiful and scenic this place was,I literally didn’t want to leave. So I thought why not share some snippets and pictures of my trip with you guys.I will be a little less narcissistic and share pictures of the beautiful Lake Tahoe instead! Of course with some of my pictures in between, you cannot stop being a narcissist completely!
We started our trip on an early Saturday morning, flew to Reno and drove from the airport to our hotel in Heavenly village in south lake tahoe. The drive is about 25 miles and as you near the village, you get to see amazing scenic views of the lake and the snow capped mountains. The mister and I hardly spoke as we drove through, it was so overwhelming to see such a beautiful sight, we were trying to capture all that we could in that short moment. It definitely takes a beautiful sight like this, to shut me up !
We drove into this very cute village and went straight to The Red Hut Cafe for a quick brunch, we were famished after a 5 hour long flight! This cafe is one of the most crowded and most recommended cafes for breakfast and brunch. They always have a wait time of at least 15 mins, which is worth the food that they serve! Later we headed to our hotel, checked in and freshened up. We hired bikes and rode along the lake on paved bike trails, it was a lot of fun. As we rode along the lake, we stopped at the El Dorado beach and took a walk there.Right opposite to the beach is this amazing restaurant called Riva Grill, later that night, we went there for dinner. They have amazing views if you go in for lunch, but sadly we went for dinner so it was too dark to see anything. But the food and the live music was great and our server Robin was very sweet too.
The second day we woke up early for the Gandola Ride, which is about 2.5 miles and takes you right at the highest point for breathtaking views of the lake! The beautiful blue expansive views of the lake were mind blowing, we spent sometime just staring at it.We then drove to emerald bay which was around 5 miles from our hotel, the best thing about this place is that every drive you take, your eyes will thank you for the pleasing sights! They’re all so scenic, I kept clicking at every point!I wish I could share all the pictures with you guys.Emerald bay offers such amazing views of the lake and again I’am falling short of words to describe the beauty. We went on a short hike around this place and then drove back to heavenly village, took a stroll around and shopped for some souvenirs, then headed back to our hotel.
The third day, we woke up early and went on a hike to Mount Tallac, the complete hike to the highest point is about 10 miles and is ridiculously tough. So we chose a relatively easy hike of about 3 miles, and saw gorgeous views of Lake Tahoe and Cathedral lake.Later we headed back to have a quick brunch and drove to zephyr cove beach and then to sand harbor beach. Both of which were absolutely beautiful, calm and serene with crystal clear water. We were lucky, there were not too many visitors at this time of the year,so we had the beach almost to ourselves. It was so blissful to just lie down and stare at the beautiful lake, the mountains and the interesting clouds in the sky!The weather was perfect, it was warm in the mornings with cool breeze and evenings got chillier.
This trip was very special in many ways, it was my birthday weekend and I was spoiled by the Mister. I ate the most yummy food at amazing restaurants and was smitten by the beauty around me. I’am so grateful that I could celebrate my birthday at this gorgeous place. This was the first trip, where I shed my OCD and had nothing planned.I’am so glad that I enjoyed the place stress free and did not move around like a ticking bomb.Every time I visit a new place, I want to see and experience everything the place has to offer. Obviously we have limited time, so I generally rush to make sure I cover everything. I’am glad, that side of me was passive here, I took a pause and enjoyed every spot I visited and was truly awestruck. This place has so much to offer, so many picturesque places to see and so little time. Lake Tahoe,I will definitely come back for more!
Now I’ll let the pictures do the talking, even though they don’t do any justice to the actual beauty of this place. I hope I’am not spamming y’all with too many pictures. I was so blown away by this place that I really wanted all you guys to see it too. I hope you enjoy it and if you have visited Lake Tahoe, let me know your experience and if you haven’t, then you must visit someday.
Until next time, have a great day!
